2008 road team

The work of Tennessee’s Road Team is made possible by the many generous companies who provide financial support due to their commitment to safety and enhancing a positive image for the transportation industry and drivers.

• Tennessee’s Road Team is a highway safety education program sponsored by Tennessee Trucking Foundation, the non-profit, charitable arm of Tennessee Trucking Association.

• The Road Team is composed of a small group of professional truck drivers with outstanding driving skills, remarkable driving records, and a desire to spread the word about highway safety.

Road Team Captains—many having more than one million miles of accident-free driving — talk to the media, schools, business groups, and civic organizations.  They share safe driving tips and teach their audience how to share the road with an 18-wheeler using the U.S. Department of Transportation’s “No-Zone” program.  Road Team Captains stress the need for all motorists to demonstrate professionalism and courtesy.

Tennessee’s Road Team educates the public, especially students and driver education classes, on highway safety and how to safely share the road with a large truck.
